There's 5 cm of snow in the forecast for Kananaskis Village on Saturday and the Bill Milne trail desperately needs it.

If you start at Ribbon Creek, the snow cover is very thin for the first 2.5K which is where the tracksetting started. The pavement was showing through the tracks and I didn't go any further.

When I was skiing at the south end of the system on Wedge Connector, the Bill Milne trail appeared to have better snow conditions there.

I also skied the Bill Milne trail from the Village down to Ribbon Creek and the snow cover was good. From Kananaskis Village to Ribbon Creek on the Bill Milne trail it's 2.5K with a net elevation loss of 75 metres. Most of the 75 metres is lost on the final 1.5K and the trail is groomed only(corduroy surface) on the hilliest part. Near the village, the trail levels out and one side is trackset. The corduroy without tracks makes for great fun when descending because the trail meanders with numerous turns.
