I ventured out to Cascade around noon today to see if skiing is still feasible. Once again, Cascade just keeps humming along! It was around plus 1 all day and I used my Crown fish scales as they perform so well in iffy spring conditions. There was about 2 cm of fresh snow, and it snowed very lightly most of the day. One skier was having a miserable time with clumping, and I assumed she was using wax skis but she couldn't stop to talk. My skis were prepped with an anti-icing product and they were flawless the entire way. In the slow new snow coating the tracks, climbing was simple as was descending. Did I say slow? As always, the plateau between the big hill and descent to the bridge was heavenly. I crossed the bridge, but as you saw in an earlier photo, this required removing skis or trudging on the bare bridge surface for about half the bridge span (I removed my skis). I didn't go much past the far campground junction, but the tracks left by Chuck and others were excellent.
Bottom line, Cascade is still good to go!
