Yesterday evening I watched the Nordic Pulse groomer signal making its way up Skogan Pass. It was time to do the ski today! Excellent grooming with slightly softening corduroy and great tracks. We started from Nakiska at -16C. No tracksetting on the first section as the snow base is thin with some crusty bits, twigs and a few rocks. But the snow improved right after the Nakiska snowmobile access road. Crisp air and warm sun as we climbed to Hummingbird Lookout. We met one skier up at the lookout. What a fantastic view on this bluebird day! Rode Multigrade Green wax worked quite well for us. Then a cold ride down on High Level in the shade. After all the climbing we reached the pass with barely any wind. We enjoyed our lunch and the stunning views.
On our descent we passed several skiers on their way up. Fast and very controllable snow for the descent.
One of the best skis for me this season. BIG THANK YOU to the groomer!!
