A quick mid-day jaunt on the middle Tom Snows, via west crystal and moose connector to the east leg of the horse trail and west meadow. Nice smooth and fast roller packing to start on west crystal (Erica was out and about working on the core trails), snowmobile packed on moose connector and skier set deep tracks on mountain road. Generally boot top trail breaking, thinner in tighter trees and sun exposed spots, sometimes almost knee deep. Did all the middle trails except the very north end hill down to moose (thin at that end with not much of a base. Where the base was thicker it was generally moist and compressible. Should set up good now as I went over everything twice, even some others travelling in the tracks. Some wet spots in low lying areas that were thin. Ground didn’t seem frozen and got some icing where I stepped off the track to shelter under a tree for a tea break. Good times although I got quite wet with the continuous snow and mild temps (-4 to -6). Snowing moderately all day, maybe an inch or two more accumulation over the grooming. Driving wasn’t so bad with snow tires. Plenty of control.

The only unfortunate part of the day was missing my window of getting some Bragg swag, not due to being closed, but limited men’s sizes for the plaid shirts. Supposedly some more coming start of summer. They sell quick apparently.
