Wonderful conditions today on the south trails in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. There was 2-4 cm of new snow on the recent grooming, just enough to create that soft, silky feeling. The trees were heavily coated with snow for a Christmas Card effect. Beautiful! We had first tracks of the day on Blueberry Hill and also on Patterson, on the way back from Elk Pass.
Fox Creek was the highlight of the day. The trail crew has done an outstanding job of levelling the tread, filling in dips and setting the track on exactly the right line through the twists and turns.
