Discussion:

…weather. Bluebird and -12 @ 9 with no wind (a late start as it turns out). Fresh crisp grooming on fox creek. Decent skier set track on elk pass with 2-4” of cold fluffy powder over top. Patterson meadows has been getting skied (thanks for the tracks!). Boot top trail breaking towards east elk pass in protected areas, toe to ankle in open meadows. A light breeze at the pass and not enough cloud to stop the snow from heating up after noon, thwarting further adventures south down tobermory ck. No sign of the lost sandwich. Various forms of stickage from there on until back down Patterson and onto elk pass trail (after a good scrape and some glide wax). A late start for too good a weather day. Saw a group of 12 walkers coming back from the hut when at the pass, so didn’t linger in case they did the unthinkable. Wobbly skier set track along elk pass, getting glazed. Happy to get back on fox grooming with its predictable snow. Just above zero back at the car at 3, but felt much warmer in the sun.

Patterson meadows.

Towards east elk.

This guy walked in my track while at the pass. The distinct waddle of a porcupine? Or a badger carrying a grudge?

And nice way to end a spring ski day.
