WBC: South meadow +, & X2

Discussion:
Started out early in -8 and headed up west crystal (freshly groomed) and moose connector to mountain view and mountain road (breaking minor trail on the last two). Dodged into south meadow and further south along the drainage (ranger creek), eventually joining the trail along the West Bank. Thin in the trees along the trail. Better in the open with toe deep trail breaking (LT gear) over a supportive crust. Returned after about 2 k down the drainage and headed east through south meadow and cut blocks to intersect with mountain view again, near the snowy owl junctions. Excellent fast and smooth travel. Back over mountain view to mountain rd and past the grooming (still first tracks) towards Tom snow south. Returned on mountain rd just as the sun started peaking out (it was short lived), then back through south meadow and east to mountain view a second time, heading back to the parking lot via west crystal, loggers and sun dog. Most machine track set had icy chunks in the base which was noisy combined with fish scales, so travelled out of the tracks. Snowing lightly all day. A bit more snow and the icy chunks should get covered up.
 West crystal
 The trail in the trees along the ranger creek drainage south of south meadow. Sometimes marginal, most times not.
 The entry to south meadow, teasing me with a splash of sun. Some minor icing in the sun until it clouded over again.
