Discussion:
It’s not often that ski conditions are good at Sandy McNabb, so it becomes a “must do” destination when there is good snow and fresh grooming. Today was such a day! The twisty, old-school, narrow trails and the unique mix of aspen groves, open meadows and pine/spruce forest make this area very different from any other Kananaskis ski area.
Temperatures got up to +2C this afternoon, resulting in snow bombs dropping from the trees and a bit of melting in sunny areas. It may be a bit icier on Sunday.
Some double trackset
Lots of narrow, single track set.
The terrifying descent on Long Prairie Loop. Best to just go uphill.
Lovely trails on the south half of the network.
