Four centimeters of snow was all that was needed to turn things around at Lake Louise.
We wandered over to Peyto which starts at Deer Lodge. There has not been any grooming
what so ever on Peyto. Here we are one week into February and there is nothing! It
has been skied but you are contending with 10 inch ruts.
Back to the Tramline and down to the Great Divide. As mentioned previously this has been
track set and track set twice - two tracks. We skied to the the far end of the Lower Telemark(LT).
The LT has been groomed and track set some time ago and we were greeted with 4 cm of snow. After about
two kilometers we met a skier going the other way making going that much easier. After the LT we headed over
to Fairview, Again, this trail has been track set a week earlier and today had some traffic on it before us
making travelling not too difficult and with the light snow cover, taming the big hill sufficiently.
Moraine Lake Road (MLR) had three machine tracks on it. The outer outgoing trail had serious pot holing on
it caused by a couple who refused to desist even after being requested to stop. The Tramline was as super as always
with a single machine track all the way down to the river. Lots of snow shoe and skier travel on the right hand side of the
Bow River Loop
For now the Lake Louise trails are back. Kudos to the Parks Canada Gang for their super track setting
