Just me and the grooming

Discussion:

PLPP was magical today! I have to admit I almost got a bit choked up when I got out of the car at Boulton (10:15, -5°) and saw the fresh, beautiful grooming. Climbing Whiskey Jack was a breeze, and it was great to say hello to Helen and her gang right on the big S hill (no ice to be found at the bottom). Afterwards, I was the first to enjoy the beautiful tracks all the way up to the junction, down Pocaterra to the Lynx junction and the end of the grooming, and back up Pocaterra a few kilometres past Packers. The descent on Packers was relatively good, although the snow was slightly icy here and a few more twigs on parts of it (but that is being quite picky… I didn’t have to pay attention to my snow plows too deeply). Huge, huge thanks to the groomers who did a fabulous job all around! On the lower elevation sections the snow definitely had an icier feel, although all that did was make the skiing feel fast rather than frustrating. My fish scales gave me great grip and glide all morning. It was around -1° at 1 o’clock when I got back to the car with a big smile on my face.

Total distance: 20.50 Km
