Discussion:

I was exited to get to Sandy McNabb this morning as neither one of us had skied there before. That, and the reported fresh grooming with excellent conditions, as per Groomer Kyle had us raring to go.

Indeed, the trails were well manicured but the chinook conditions took control today. We saw temperatures of -2 to +4. Several snow bombs to duck from, although many had fallen prior to our arrival.

Snow conditions varied between:
-Awesome
-to Slipping on the uphill (my waxed ski's)
-to Clumping/sticking (Jolynn's skin skis).

We skied Death Valley, Long Prairie Loop, Pine Ridge Loop, Macabee Loop and finally Long Prairie Link.

The snow coverage was generally good, but we did see a few rocks to skirt around. We were surprised to catch a bit of air over what appeared to be a jump, but it turned to to be a big rock.

I was looking for signs of horses as I recall reading they can tear up the trails in this area: see Bob Truman's report from March 2022: https://www.skierroger.ca/index.php?content=showski_special&id=948
No signs of horses today.

We enjoyed our day in this beautiful area and hope to catch some colder weather next time...
