Discussion:

On mostly skier tracked, previously rolled trails, we enjoyed good skiing on Sundog and the Iron Springs-Elbow loop this afternoon. Soft snow on the hills made the descents easy. On the little south end loop, only the Iron Springs side was rolled, I guess due to a log across Elbow right at the junction, which would be a hazard if one was descending quickly headed south. (see map). There is another log about 700m north on that stretch of Elbow that is not in a hazardous spot and is easily stepped across. No packing at all continuing down towards Fullerton from the south loop. Finishing up on Sundog west, we found fresh grooming and tracksetting that made for a fast and silky smooth run back to the trailhead, where we met the groomer returning from Crystal east. Nothing to complain about on a blue skies and blue wax afternoon!

Tree hazard at the bottom of the hill on Elbow at the south junction with Iron Springs.
