With close to 20cm of fresh snow at WBC and a hangover to shake what better way to spend the afternoon than on quiet, freshly roller-packed trails. We arrived at 2.30 to a parking lot with a few dozen cars, and departed along Mountain Road with the temp at -12.

Roller-packing had occurred all the way up to Mountain View West where we saw the Bobcat making four trips up and down the steep hill to the summit, before disappearing north towards Moose Loop. Great job grooming crew and big thanks!

As the sun set towards a cloud shrouded Moose Mtn we enjoyed fabulous powder back down the hill towards the way we came. There wasn't a lot of glide coming back down Mtn Rd, but the scenery was gorgeous and the descent on the hills offered a fabulous surface.

The final leg along the Moose Loop Connector and Crystal Line West (north side) was delightful, with again freshly roller-packed trails. Not a lot of cars in the lot when we left with the temp at -15.

If the wonderful trails team are able to get some grooming and tracks set before the deep freeze, there will be a few days of excellent skiing. That said, 11 km of skier set trails, with having to make fresh tracks up Mtn View West made for an excellent workout and finally a winter wonderland.
