Been using SkierBob/SkierRoger for a while - figured might be time to start contributing.

Skied Cascade to the end today. Still suprisingly good snow, suspect some of the best outside of Lake Louise. Fast conditions, but not icy, just a bit slick in the tracks. Enough loose snow for good downhill control. Started at -5 and VR45, finished at 0 and VR60. Parks was refreshing the skating grooming, but left the tracks untouched. A bit of spruce needles in the tracks in a few spots, but nothing too bothersome. Great day out there.

Total distance: 25.00 Km

We also skied Cascade today (9 kms out and back) and found the road section from the parking lot to be quite hard and icy. The first km of the hill was covered with spruce cones, one of which attached itself to my ski and dumped me into the soft snow on the side of the tracks. Our friend had the same issue with the evil cones that seem to jump up and glom on! Great tracks and nice snow once up the hill. The uphill corner beyond the campground was rather icy and lumpy, especially coming down. Overall, quite good.

They may look benign, but those cones are pure evil!

Lovely snow higher up.
