Golden Winter Sun

Discussion:

We got in an early morning ski today. Hardly anyone was in the parking lot when we first arrived just before 9am. Thanks to the WBC for the grooming done last night. We took advantage of the new track sets for part of our loop route - Mountain Road/Moose/Mountain View/Mountain Road West/West Crystal. Snow was decent, with a more silky, soft snow on the far side of the loop(where we switched from green to blue wax). Saw only a few people to start. During the last 1/2 hour the number of skiers started to increase. We began in brisk cold conditions, but were treated to a warm air mass and the golden glow of the sun on the far side of the loop. As we returned to the colder air, we found ourselves wishing we had stayed a while longer in the golden light of the sun. No pictures to post today…just the memories of a peaceful winter ski.
