The following is an update from Groomer, Darcy Labelle for the XC ski trail network that surrounds Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise:
Not great news at this time. Let’s see what the New Year brings us…

Fairview Loop (#2):
Skier set, Poor condition. Reports of multiple fallen trees.
Shoreline (#4):
Leveled, Dec. 22, 2023.
Poor condition.
Lake Trail (#4):
Double trackset ski trail with a separate walking path, Dec. 22, 2023.
Good condition.
Upper Telemark and Peyto Trails (#5 & 7):
Skier set, Poor condition. Reports of multiple fallen trees.

Further to the comment about the Upper Lake Louise ski trails -
A couple of weeks ago we met the same groomers who were working on the snowshoe trails and were told that the Chateau has a MOU with Parks Canada to maintain all the trails on the hotel side of Great Divide. Their snowmoblle broke last April and has only just been fixed and there are only 2 hotel employees working on the trails. They asked that we comment loudly to Parks Canada that the hotel is not keeping up their agreement and also at the hotel (concierge desk).
