Moose Loop

Discussion:

We had a really nice ski around the Moose loop on an amazing bluebird afternoon! As shown in the photos, it's skier tracked after some preliminary roll packing on the weekend. So, a bit rough and uneven in places, with a few scattered and avoidable thin spots and hazards poking through. Despite that, it's in enjoyable shape for skiers with a bit of experience who don't expect perfect grooming. Let's call it "fair early season" conditions. My recommendation would be to ski it counterclockwise, to ascend the hills with the most hazards. A short excursion south on Mountainview West found rocks lurking if one stepped out of the narrow packed vehicle tracks. Lower West Crystal appeared to have seen no packing, but was fast and fun on the return.
