Nice spring conditions at Shark today! I skied everything except the hill down to the river. There was 1-2cm of fresh snow on the east end of the trail system, increasing to 5-10cm as you went further west. Convective flurries started in the early afternoon and added a bit of snow. The fresh snow was reasonably fast in the morning, but become slow and clumpy as it warmed up. I was skating, and I was quite pleased to be skating and not dealing with tricky wax conditions! Coverage is great, I didn't see the dirt patches mentioned in the grooming report. Lots of people out there enjoying the warm weather!

AT - My interpretation is that while "Tour de ____" doesn't exclude skiing every trail in a particular network in a single day, it also refers to skiing the perimeter of a network, particularly a large one such as PLPP or WBC. I think the source of "Tour de ____" is the Tour de France bike race. Accordingly, any "Tour de ____" should be "long" relative to what is considered "normal".

Mike, in French “Faire le tour de quelque chose” means as well to perfectly know something, hence skiing all the trails of a specific network or like you said, the outer perimeter of a network.

Yes, I suppose skiing every inch of a network in a single day might be impractical or impossible. Perhaps in such cases a team of skiers could divide the network up into "legs" to tackle individually and then combine their observations into a single report. This could then be referred to as a "Team Tour de ____".
It would be nice for skiers who are anti-social but long to do something with a group.
