A fantastic sunny day in south PLPP. We skied Moraine, Whiskey Jack, Tyrwhitt, Elk Pass and Fox creek on the return. Started from Elk Pass lot just before 11:00 and it was -10º. Beautiful fresh grooming for the first 8 minutes, then 15cm of powder to plow on Moraine. Plenty of loose powder on Whiskey Jack too and a full 20cm at the top. A bit slow on Tyrwhitt but the skier track was faster than we expected. Once at Elk Pass we hit the freshly groomed slot car track and things began to unfold much more quickly. I always ski the steep bit that you can access just past the Blueberry picnic table and today I only made it down about ⅔ of the distance before grinding to a halt in the deep snow. The return trip down Elk Pass trail was fast and fun, Fox Creek was skier tracked but fairly fast on the descent.
Luckily we managed with green extra wax and a bit of blue under the foot as I left my wax kit in the car.
