Discussion:

We wanted to ski all of Bill Milne from Ribbon Creek today, but the reported marginal conditions of the northern section, plus the strong winds saw us change our plans. So we started at the golf course, and skied south from there. The tracks were windblown for the first km or so, and then gradually improved. Things were quite a bit better after we passed the Mt. Kidd campground, and got really nice after we crossed Hwy40 as we approached the Wedge Connector. Very little wind on the Connector, and great tracks all the way to Evan-Thomas Creek. We reversed our course back to Wedge Pond, and then headed north on Milne. Reaching the Hwy40 crossing after the fun downhills, we decided that conditions were so nice that we turned around, skied back to the Connector, and much of the way back to Evan-Thomas, so that we could enjoy the fun downhills and great grooming again. The last section back to the car was even more windy now - some huge gusts! Started at -6C; end -2C.

Total distance: 20.00 Km
