Discussion:

This was my first trip of the season to Lake Louise so I've got a lot of catching up to do. We got things started with the beautiful Bow River Loop yesterday.

The Great Divide was being trackset on the outbound side this morning. I skied in the old tracks on the other side which were firmer and faster and still in excellent shape. Mid-morning temperature was -8. Easy blue wax day.

It's been years since I skied the Telemark trail and today it was extremely enjoyable. I don't remember it being this wide or safe. Maybe it was the incredible conditions with a bit of fresh snow over well-defined tracks.

The air was calm on the Great Divide, but as soon as I passed under the arch at the border, the wind hit me in the face. The wind wasn't strong enough to cause any drifting and the new grooming/tracksetting went all the way to the Lake O'Hara parking lot.

Suzie finally got to do some skiing on the dog-friendly Yoho Valley Road which has about 5 cm of fresh snow over the Jan 7 tracksetting but the tracks are still in decent shape.

Betty, Bernetta, and Anne were enjoying the great conditions on the Great Divide.

The Great Divide was groomed and trackset today.

The Great Divide on the BC side.

Lots of fun and excellent conditions on the Telemark trail.

Great Divide

Yoho Valley Road had lots of fresh snow but the tracks were still reasonably good.
