Discussion:

Two very enjoyable hours were spent skiing a convoluted 17 km route taking in pretty much all of the core trails this afternoon. Nothing "core" about it at all- conditions were mostly soft, reasonably fast, and smooth. The very firm base was often evident to the poles, but of no concern except maybe on Mountainview where the 5 cm of new snow is barely covering solid ice in spots. At minus 5, overcast with light snow, a thin layer of my favourite Rode Viola Multigrade worked great for grip. The foothills ski season is not over yet!

Loggers.

East Crystal.

Skate lanes on East Crystal getting a refresh. The groomer had also been on west Sundog, Elbow and Iron Springs. Kudos to the trail crew for their dedication, on a holiday, no less!
