-8 at 8. Racers getting ready. Some kind of combined ski/run marathon (according to some). Looked like more XC gear than AT. The fresh snow made off trail touring pleasant, accessing the meadows via west crystal and mountainview. Made it south on ranger creek all the way to the bridge for snakes and ladders (I assume) mostly staying away from the trail and sticking to meadows and forest. Returned via mountainview/west crystal/loggers/sundog/east crystal. A nice morning in decent enough conditions for another bonus day at Bragg. You could feel and hear the icyness with LT metal edges, but moderated by the fresh snow.

Good travel on the old track through South meadow.
