Discussion:

The Camp Mercier x-c ski trail system is only 40 minutes drive north of Quebec City, with its micro-climate for higher than anywhere else snow accumulation and track setting done daily. It was my first outing there in more than 30 years. Conditions were perfect, being enjoyed by lots of people of all ages. I skied the outermost perimeter trail of the system.

One of the few Relais shelters (Le Pic); very comfortable for lunch, with wood stove.

Quite a bit of snow left in the trees, from a 15 cm snowfall 2 days ago.

Knife-edge track setting over 60 km of trails.

Trail map of Camp Mercier for skiing (classic and skate designated trails, as well as some for snowshoeing). I skied the outer trails of the system (3-10-11-13-14-3) for 23.5 km.
