Discussion:

We started at Elkwood Parking to follow all the new grooming done last night. Conditions were perfect and we covered every trail groomed several times plus an extra ski on Lodgepole to follow the skier tracks we set a couple of days ago.

A HUGE thank you to Alberta Parks and their skilled and dedicated groomers for creating such a wonderful venue in our world famous Rockies.

There was a large weekend crowd on the trails but with all the trails, it did not seem congested. There were young families, young groups, athletes, couples and a large school group. The future of cross country skiing is in good hands.

One group we chatted with were from Ontario. What a great investment the grooming is to promote tourism.

The temperature was -10 degrees late in the morning and approached a high of near zero in the afternoon with a mix of sun and cloud. Conditions should be good (and fast) tomorrow.

Total distance: 34.00 Km

All the trails were this perfect.

Lots of snow in Elkwood Campground.

Lodgepole

On Friday we set track on Lodgepole with 10 to 15 cms of fluffy, sometimes sticky snow. The track had firmed up and was very good today.

Our route today. 34km, 600 m
