Very helpful to know, Jeff.

Looked at the weather station report for Standish(Sunshine) and was hoping that Healy Creek and Brewster creek trail to Sundance Lodge had got some of the 18cm. My first clue that this was not to be was the decrease in snow cover in the ditch and on the road the closer I got to Banff. I parked at the Healy Creek trailhead and should have said no right then.
There was only 2-4 cm of fresh snow that was just enough to hide the rocks but not enough to make for good skiing. There were fresh tracks to the riverside viewpoint but then that smart person turned back. I went to the Brewster jct and headed up the trail for less than a km before I turned around. Lots of rocks just hidden by the snow. I then tried to salvage the day, and headed down the Healy creek trail to Sundance Canyon but gave up after two kms and turned back. -6c at the start and -3c at 1pm. Sunny skies over Banff.

Total distance: 10.00 Km
