Bravo Dana for skiing Goat Creek all by your lonesome. I sure wish I could have joined you. Great that Paul became your "sherpa". Gorgeous photos as always. The new Wedge Connector looks very tempting also. I skied by it twice earlier in the season, before the last few great reports on it.

After reading Jeff's exciting report, I decided to ski Goat Creek. I started at 10 a.m. (with the time change, it was really only 9 a.m.) It was -3C at the trailhead. The trail was frozen and pretty hard, so I even took my skis off and walked down to the Death Bridge, which I had never done before. After the bridge, the snow started to improve and it was good down to the second bridge. I did not see anybody till the sunny shelter, where I had lunch. Only after lunch, there were quite a few people on the trail coming from Banff. But the snow started to be too wet and there were also a lot of needles and pine cones in the tracks. Great day, great temperature, but not perfect tracks. Especially compared to the Nordic Centre, where it was perfect the day before. Hope the new snow will still come this month.

Total distance: 19.00 Km

from the second bridge
