Sometimes it only takes a day or more for tracks to get fairly worn, especially with warm temps and busyness. This week was busy with the great weather.

There were lots of school trips too with the mild sunny temps.

Discussion:

My plan was to follow some recent grooming, so I'd checked out NordicPulse for Bragg Creek and it was showing a bunch of trails groomed yesterday, March 8, and Moose Loop was showing as one of the freshly groomed ones, so figured I'd go for that.

Seems like something is up with the Bragg Creek grooming reports, as it was fine, but the grooming/tracksetting was definitely not new, I'd guess 5+ days ago. The tracks were still in good condition in most areas, with a few bootprints from hikers.

I did encounter a couple of hikers on the hilly section of Moose Connector between Moose Loop and Mountain Road that's indicated as a ski trail on the maps and signs; with the warm temperatures and freeze/thaw, it's not a great place to have footprints on the hill. I'd politely advised that this section was skiing only, but they insisted it was a hiking trail too.

Overall a pleasant day, but just a quick heads-up that the dates on the grooming reports may be a bit off.
