Glad you had a fine ski. About a decade ago, SkierBob explained in detail why it's best to ski his special clockwise. Briefly, if you descend Whiskey Jack, in several places you're pushing snow down the hill. Also, there are 1 or 2 tight turns in which it would be hard to avoid uphill skiers if you were descending at any speed. Finally, why not get most of the climbing out of the way early, then enjoy the mostly easier downhills ? But it's not labelled one way, so you're free to ski as you wish.

Discussion:

I started at Boulton campground parking lot at -15C (which didn't feel cold at all!) and skied Moraine (skier tracked in 5 cms. of snow, wobbly and not very nice to ski), Fox (snow bombs had brought down cones, needles, lichen and twiggy clumps), Elk Pass Trail (nice and even better as I went farther up). It was very quiet all the way to the Tyrwhitt picnic table. As I had lunch in the glorious sunshine, people started to ski past or arrive for lunch, all going the opposite direction to me. It was warming up too (-8C by now) and I applied V45 wax to give a little more grip. Onward to the top of Whiskey Jack, having passed quite a number of people out enjoying the spectacular weather and snow. Tyrwhitt trails were under more recent snow, but the skier tracks were very good (a few snow bombs). Whiskey Jack was a bit more challenging as only the up-track was any good and the steeper hills were all herringboned and lumpy for snowplowing down, but all in all, I had a respectable descent. -5 at the end. Why do SBS in reverse? I hate plodding UP Whiskey Jack when I can fly down it instead. Why waste a good hill?
