Wonderful to see your name up here again and such a stunning report. Makes one wonder, will be have the massive Spring dump that I so well remember about 15-20 years ago in Calgary on March 17th that halted everyone in their tracks! (Except me who walked to the neighbourhood pub in Deer Run to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and not being able to get to work that day!!)

Discussion:

Great skiing all day on light touring gears and VR45 wax. Was greeted at the Red Earth Creek parking lot by Mitch and other Shadow Lake lodge staff, getting ready to haul gears on skidoos and sleds. The snow conditions were quite good heading in to the lodge, in spite of no track setting. I had Mount Ball from the Red Chairs to myself. Should be a busy weekend up there, with over 20 guests expected at the lodge, enjoying the track setting done by Mitch late pm today.

Total distance: 31.00 Km

What a view of Mount Ball from sitting in a red chair for lunch.

My skis also got to enjoy the views, while resting on the chairs.

Is this a temporary lodge expansion by the Red Chairs?

Still a decent ski trail by the skidoo track along Red Earth Creek.

Those trees are framing nicely a view of Mount Ball by the outlet of Shadow Lake.

Never saw so little snow on that bridge for late February.

Well packed ski, boot, snowshoe and Sasquatch trails on the lake.

Never get tired to snap a photo of that tilted tree, with Pilot Mountain in the background.
