Thanks for the reminder, MaSid!

A quick review of their website shows snow conditions have forced some changes: The 15, 24, and 42km skiers will start and finish at Boulton Campground rather than Pocaterra Hut, and the 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 5km skiers will race at Confederation Golf Course in Calgary on the next day.

A bit of history (taken from website):
-------------------------------------
The Cookie Race is the second oldest Nordic event (after the Lake Louise Loppet) and the second largest loppet (after the Canadian Birkebeiner) in Alberta.

The first Kananaskis Ski Marathon was conducted in March of 1978, with 67 participants and one 45 km distance.

This seasons routes are shown below:

Racers in the 15km and 24km categories do the 17km loop once. Racers in the 42km category do it twice

Racers in the 2km and 3km categories do the 2.5km loop once. Racers in the 5km category do it twice. Racers in the 0.5km and 1km categories will ski inside the ‘stadium’

Don’t forget: cookie race Saturday
