@ulrikeski -- The trail was trackset except for the stqrt, from parking lot to Bqnff Park boundary. Assuming it was trackset on Feb 8, as per the Parks trail report, There must have been very few skiers on it. Under the 1-2 inches of fresh, the shallowish track was very clean and undamaged, with maybe four to six skiers before us on top of the fresh. On the east side of the Spray loop, We were the first skiers on top of the fresh, which was over skier set track for about 60% of the distance. The rest of it was pretty smooth, soft-packed snowshoe track. Near the finish, we took the left turn to Spray Connector. I hit a few rocks while snowplowing part way down. Fortunately, they were smooth and rounded enough that I slid right across them, no catching and no marks on my ski bases!

We were both on skinny track skis, no metal edges.

The hill at Goat Creek trailhead was fully covered, soft-packed enough to snowplow.

Hi: thanks for the report. I assume it was skier tracked. Did you use light touring skis or track skis? How was the start of the trail from Goat Creek?

Thanks for the report, Dennis.
That was very daring of you guys to head out on those trails despite the poor ratings on the Parks Canada Trail Conditions report!
This is what we need to know.

A day late posting this. Beautiful winter day. Didn't really know what to expect except blue skies. Snow and trail conditions were surprisingly good. Easy progress everywhere, very very little traffic as of Friday, with an inch or two of recent, beautiful white snow making perfect scenery, over the shallow-ish trackset and solid base, poles striking ice every so often, but nice kick and glide everywhere.

Finished on the east side of spray river, skiing on snowshoe packed trail and skier set tracks, but still very easy going.

One of those exhilarating ski days!
