Hi Erin,
Wondering what you think of the tracks in my 4th photo with the unusual side track, when you see it on the river?
A Parks Canada member suggested that the side track is actually the impression left by a cat dragging something (like a leg) from a kill site.

A note of Caution:
Do not take this newly signed #5 route to Mud Lake. It is not groomed and just a hiking trail.
Take the mapped route down the #22 Drummond route, which is beautifully trackset, and only 400 metres.

Maybe, try this route in summer!

Discussion:

"Fast" is a good way to describe conditions on the Pipestone trails today.
Glad so many others were out enjoying these trails.
We used Green kick wax, given the cold temperature, and it worked well.
Nice to have this new option, at a lower elevation.
Enjoy!

Greg, Lindsay and friends, were happy to pose for the Skier Roger site

Trail Crew have added new features this year... this log bench, better signage and even a port-a-potty!

Pauline, Alanna and Kristine ham it up for another photographer!

These tracks heading up the Pipestone River are probably Lynx, but possibly Cougar with the swishing tail prints

Definitely Wolverine tracks also on the Pipestone River

Set tracks are in good shape

Check out the Trapper's Cabin on Merlin

Ski right in!

Don't pass on Mud Lake... Views are Outstanding
