A word of caution about the Iron Creek ‘parking lot’ There isn’t one and there are no parking signs on the road. People get tickets there. And there are no facilities.

I only go skiing when conditions are perfect so that should tell you all you need to know about the south trails at West Bragg Creek.

Balmy weather, cold snow, friendly dogs, happy skiers, fantastic grooming and tracksetting.

The quickest way to access the south trails is from the Iron Creek parking lot. It's a double bonus because I get to enjoy the Iron Creek downhill on the return. Surprisingly, I met three skiers on Iron Creek. I didn't realize anyone knew about it.

The rarely-groomed trails of South Elbow and South Iron Springs were trackset and in excellent condition. The sunny sections of Iron Springs were holding up well in the warm weather.

Larissa and Ron on Iron Springs. Larissa has read 195 books in the past year. How does she find time to ski?

Larissa asked me why I wasn't skiing much, and I said I was busy with other things including reading. I've read 25 books in the past year and thought it was a lot.

The rarely-groomed section of Iron Springs which is south of the Elbow/Iron Springs connector.

Family having a picnic in the sun at the Iron Springs/Elbow connector junction as skiers and dogs come and go.

Iron Creek is a pleasant side trip for skiers on Iron Springs, but I actually started at the Iron Creek trailhead.

Iron Springs was holding up well in the sunny spots.

As I reached the grooming on Iron Creek, Barry was there to greet me.

A few minutes up Iron Creek, I met the Iron Man himself, Mike W, who thinks nothing of skiing 100 kilometres at a time.

Sarah started skiing three years ago and made sure to tell me that she caught the tail end of my blogging days. She also said her favourite loop is the SkierBob Special.

This friendly and well-behaved dog's name is Luna.

Some vestiges of winter wonderland on Iron Springs.

Happiness was on everyone's face today.

The rarely-groomed Elbow South. It starts to get walked on as you near the Fullerton parking lot.
