THANKS... I was wondering what electrical outlet they were servicing!

Wow, you mean eSkis may be coming to our shores? That's great news Mike W! Can't happen soon enough.
People don't realize the sheer volume of CO2 a heavy-breathing skier exhales on the up. Not to mention the methane emitted from exertion-induced flatulence!

The person I spoke with at Parks this morning said that they're extending their pilot eBike program to include eSkis. Fortis was in to install an eSki charging station. It's a big thing in Europe now, especially for backcountry touring. See the guy on the right in the photo below. Check out the video at

Discussion:
It was +3 degrees and actually raining when we started. As we didn't have our skate skis we chose the relatively flat route to Upper Bankhead.
Surprised to find truck tracks had ruined one side of the tracksetting! He had come up the road from the T junction near Cascade Pits and driven all the way to the Cascade Meadow junction. At least he seemed to minimize his impact by driving back on his own tracks and leaving some room for skate skiers. Parks has now informed me that it was Fortis who drove up to fix an electrical outlet!
Enjoy the skate ski conditions.
The truck left some room for skiers
He turned back here
