Good to see you are starting to rack up some skiing miles again.
If you want to ski far up the Pipestone River, look for my old ski trail on the horse/backpacking trail. It is likely buried somewhat but should still be visible all the way up to the northern portion of Point Camp Meadows.

Thanks for checking out the river route. Doesn’t sound good for a snowfa in the near future, unless Tuesday brings a big dump of the white stuff. Regardless, should fix the needle and ice issues throughout the region.

Discussion:
Pipestone on Sunday was a lovely place. The Parks website said fresh grooming on Friday. There was a nice layer of fluffy fresh snow on top of that. Some debris on the south end of the trail system, but the fresh fluff kept my wax clean. Fantastic conditions other than that. I followed some tracks a short distance up the river. Off of the track, there isn't a single supportive layer to be found on the river. It's just deep facets straight to ice. I don't think I'll be exploring upriver for a while! Nice to see lots of people out enjoying the good snow.
