Cool phenomenon worthy of a stop. No sign of an overturned donut delivery vehicle in the ditch? The shot with the trees is great. Bit of an illusion on first look. Thought it was coniferous trees at first (which looked almost hoodoo/bank like), but no, deciduous. Good light.

The media would probably love the holey snow ball pictures.

Those holey snow balls would make an interesting snow man on XC skis.

West Bragg tracks remain in great shape

Discussion:

The track setting is holding up very well, thanks to fairly light skier traffic. Last night’s wind brought down a few needles but nothing of consequence. Air temp +4C at the parking lot this aft, but the snow stayed cold. Tomorrow should be another gooder.

That same wind produced some rare snow rollers along Hwy 1 – the beauties in these pics were at Springbank Rd, with Calaway Park treeline in the background on the other side of TCH. The tracks show that the wind rolled them UP a slope.
