Even though we didn't start until after 10, it was a bone-chilling -21 C and we felt it!. There were a few hardy souls in the parking lot when we started, but we saw no one until much later in the day. I was using Swix Blue and it worked very well until we got off-trail heading to what I THOUGHT would lead to Mud Lake. It didn't, but we had a great time breaking trail for an hour in search of it and finally ending up in a complete circle and connecting again with the main trail. Only later, with a bit more uphill work, did we find the nicely broken trail to Mud Lake, where we had a lunch in the sun (still - 16 or so). Went past Pipestone Lake and then returned. Thank goodness we had sun and no wind or it would have been dangerous to be out, I think.
