Good conditions at PLPP today, although somewhat icy and dirty. I skied elk pass, blueberry hill, Tyrwhitt, a bit of Pocaterra (about a third of the way between whiskey jack and Packers) the lookout north to south, Hydroline to Patterson's, and back along Patterson's and elk pass. Lower elevations were very warm and or icy. All of Elk Pass and Blueberry Hill have very firm tracks with some needles and loads of black bryoria, although the last bit of blueberry hill along the ridge is quite good. The last bit of elk pass above blueberry junction is a serious bryoriamania but the tracks are good. Tyrwhitt had pretty good snow but in the trees there are tons of frozen tree binns that make the tracks very bumpy. It's good in the meadows though and would be great with fresh grooming. Not sure why that didn't get done last night. The bit of pocaterra I skied had gorgeous fresh tracks but was getting wet as I descended so I turned around it did lookout instead. North lookout hasn't been groomed for a bit but the snow was the best I encountered all day and there's a good snowplowed “track”. South lookout had a bit less traffic and was pretty glazed toward the bottom of the switchbacks. Hydroline had some drifted snow but was actually amazingly good, and Patterson's was also good although a bit icy toward the bottom. The big hill above the parking lot on elk was very icy.
