Discussion:

With news that the trail to the lodge had been snowmobile packed, and with perfect weather, this was my choice today.
The Redearth Creek trail has been heavily used over the weekend, but not beyond that.
The climb up was easy, and the descent was fast (but watch out for fallen snow tree bombs that can throw one off balance).
Highly recommended before the Lodge opens.

Blue sky day and no one else out!

It was not all easy...

But it got better

Beautiful between the Lodge and the Lake

and only this American Dipper to keep me company

Thanks for the report, when you say the trail has been heavily used, folks just ski to the warden cabin? On my list for a next trip

Glad you asked Jean-Francois!
The Redearth Creek trail is only heavily used for the first part (4 km), by snowshoers and back country skiers... I would not recommend what they are doing...
see attached!
Looking forward to your next report.

Other users were very good at trying to avoid the ski track

Surprisingly, some fat skiers wanted to ski that first avalanche slope (4 km up)!

Hi Chuck: Beautiful photos! Was there any new tracksetting on the trail? Did you use light touring skis? Enjoy the warm weather.

No new track setting Ulrike.
I used Jeannette's very light touring skis (59-49-55), nice and narrow but with valuable metal edges.
Glad you liked the photos, but it is the destination that is beautiful.
Enjoy another desination!
