Discussion:

Despite the low ¨vis¨, we had a wonderful day skiing the hourglass feature west of Black Prince tarns. Starting temperature was a chilly -14 C, but the wind was minimal after getting onto the trail and continued light all day. We encountered 40-50 cm of well-consolidated snow on a supportive base, no "signs" of avalanche activity recently. The group did 4 runs and I had only one "face-plant" which, I am told, was preceded by a half-second of some pretty impressive "air. If anyone finds a thermos up that way, it's mine.

On return at 2:30, the parking lot was completely full and cars lined the road all the way to the Smith-Dorrien. I guess people REALLY wanted to get out befor the next DEEP FREEZE.
