We started out at Elk ... ignoring the mantra "follow the grooming" - The trail was glistening ice at 9:30 so after struggling up to the Fox turn off we bailed... and followed the fresh grooming to Mt. Shark. It was excellent! Great tracks, no catch and release, no clumping, no ice. We even had reasonable speed for a spring ski. Skied all the outside loops and down to Watridge Lake for lunch. Skin skis worked great all day. There were a few previous slushy areas that were easily avoidable. Tomorrow who knows.. .

Sounds lovely! I was slightly tempted, but the drive is just too far.
Yes, the Elk Pass trail was very icy this morning! I left the parking lot at 9:15 am.
