Discussion:

We looked at the recent grooming and decided to ski some "green trails" that had been groomed last night.

We parked at Boulton Creek campground, went up Packers (down & back up again for me), on Pocaterra to the Whiskey Jack junction, back down Pocaterra to Lynx, then Amos. I did some extra skiing on Moraine, up & down Fox and back via Boulton Bridge.

The conditions varied! We started off on beautifully track set trails at 8:30 a.m. with a temperature of -2C. A snowstorm hit us and changed the conditions. I had skin skis while Jamie waxed his skis. We both experienced clumping of snow under our skis. It was beautiful but slow going. I lucked out a few times, going downhill after another skier. That helped!

Once the snow stopped, the conditions improved. I did two big snow scrapes of my skis on Lynx and Moraine and then, no more clumping problems. Jamie had slippage issues.

I finished skiing just after 1 p.m. with a temperature of 4C. By then, drops of melting snow were falling on my head. Some sections in the sun were soft and getting wet. I experienced a tiny bit of catch & release at the end of my ski.

I cannot predict what it will be like tomorrow as it changed so much during a few hours of skiing!

Was it worthwhile... oh, yes! Just a bit of a workout!
