Participants:

Just me, and a whole lot of dog walkers.

Discussion:

I always like to take advantage of opportunities to ski right from home, and with about 18 cm of accumulation by the time the sun popped out late in the morning, today was the day. I didn't rush out first thing, as I've learned that in a dog walker hot spot such as the Silver Springs Botanical Gardens, it's best to wait until the puppy people have pounded out their usual paths. Then, I can set a track away from those routes with a better chance of it remaining un-trampled. With all that new snow, the first of my 2.1 km laps with 40m of elevation gain/loss was slow going, but the snow compacted nicely and by lap #4, my final one, the track was running reasonably fast with decent kick and glide on blue wax.
