Did the Pipestone loop counterclockwise. My fave ski destination. Poor road conditions between Canmore and Lake Louise, but well worth the trek. -12° at the crack of noon with a half full parking lot and oodles of new snow. -9° at the end. Lightly snowing the entire tour with snow hanging heavy on the trees - wind protected in the trees and just a little wind in the clearings. Add the new porta potty at the trailhead and, well, what more could you ask for?
I used VR30 but could have gone with a harder wax. Tracksetting was covered by several centimeters of new snow, but the tracks were still well defined courtesy of the early birds. Downhills and corners were all easily navigated on the soft butter - no surprises. 9 out of 10. Once the snow stops and the tracksetters make one more pass...10/10.

Total distance: 13.50 Km
