Discussion:

I started out from Elkwood as there had been grooming last night on the middle trails in that part of the park. I headed up Amos / Moraine / Fox / Elk Pass with a side trip to MaSid's couch. On the way back I skied Tyrwhitt / Pocaterra / Lynx back to Elkwood. I tried all the various options in the Elkwood area. I found conditions to be quite variable. In the morning I started on fresh groomed trails so I made good time until reaching the Elk Pass trail. There the flurries that had been falling gradually changed to fairly heavy snow and that certainly slowed things down. At the end of the day there was a cm or two of snow on the fresh grooming so it was a bit sticky too. Tomorrow should be similar I would think given the warm temperatures (just below zero) and still falling snow. Freshly groomed trails would likely be the best bet.

The trail to the couch (west Elk Pass) was easy to find in the trees but not so easy in the open areas but I persevered. Tonight's snow may cover my track up especially if it is windy.
