We decided to wait for the heat of the day (-17 degrees!) so didn't start skiing until 2:00. We did West Crystal, Loggers, Elbow, Iron Springs, and then retraced our route back down Loggers/W Crystal because they had the best tracks and the downhills were wonderful.
Elbow and Iron Springs are only partially trackset. Elbow has some troughs on the clockwise downhills and Iron Springs has a couple of weird large piles of snow on the ccw downhills. The snow was SLOW! But it was a fine afternoon and an enjoyable ski.
Total distance: 13.00 Km

I also started out around 2 on a similar program: West Crystal-Moose Connector-Mountain Road-Mountain View-Loggers-Elbow-Iron Springs-East Crystal. Most trails were in nice shape- Elbow being the notable exception as it was rough with icy lumps in spots, and wonky wobbly tracksetting. Iron had some of that going on as well, but was generally more pleasant to ski. And yes- I also noticed those big lumps, but they were easy to avoid. East Crystal had not been recently groomed despite being shown as such on the Nordic Pulse map, but prior skiers had re-established the old tracks and it was decently fast on the long downhill. A morning hotwax with Maplus cold glider (-8 to -22) helped with the slow cold snow, but the glide was still a bit sedate even with only a whiff of Swix Green underfoot for grip. Still- an enjoyable ski under bluebird skies.
Mountain View, with inexplicable gaps in the tracksetting, which I noticed on other trails as well.
