Discussion:
Some fresh snow coming down at the trail head with gusting winds. Temperature was around -1 to -2. Overcast with the sun trying to break through.
As to skier Roger’s post definitely some “catch and release” snow conditions. Often better to ski outside of the tracks on the fresh corduroy where the new snow hadn’t blown into the tracks.
Clumping and sticking was occurring on wax skis, crown skis and skin skis. We were all feeling it.
Spent a good part of the morning practicing some technique, and doing drills on the grid. Then went out and skied the trails.
Awesome to meet up with SkierRoger on the trail and have a quick chat. Some other groups out today but it was pretty quiet overall.
It was a great day out on the mount shark trails with great people. Worth it if you’re thinking of heading out there.
Practicing some diagonal stride technique
