Our first ski at Emerald Lake this winter. Started at 10am and +1C. A short ski across the lake brought us to the trail that parallels the NW shore, and we found this to be somewhat icy. Once we reached the Alluvial Fan (skied it clockwise), things were better - decent tracks, often a bit crusty, but good for speed. We did the alluvial loop twice, and then headed back, skiing the full length of the lake on skier-set tracks that were often wobbly. Finished at 1pm to +5C. Hopefully, the coming cold weather will provide a decent refresh of snow.
