Discussion:

I hadn't skied much at PLPP this winter and had yet to ski Blueberry Hill and all the trails from Packers north. Seeing all the recent grooming, I decided to do a Tour de PLPP.

I opted for a late start so the snow would soften up a bit and not scrape off my glide wax in the first km. Even so, when I set out from Pocaterra Hut at 11am, it had only warmed up to -13C.

My route was Meadow, Woolley, Amos, Wheeler, Moraine, Fox Creek, Elk Pass, Blueberry Hill, Elk Pass, Tyrwhitt, Whiskey Jack, Packers, Pocaterra, Come Along, Rolly Road. Thought of doing Lookout, but had already done it 3 times this winter.

PLPP sure was popular today. I met about 20 people between Pocaterra Hut and Patterson. But not a soul after that. All the recent tracksetting was in great shape. Even Moraine and Fox Creek which were trackset a week ago, were good. Of note were the large number of icy tree bombs that had landed on Blueberry Hill's uphill track. I spent most of my time in the middle of the trail, constantly looking up for potential bombs.

The only noticeable snow melt during the day was on a few sunny spots on Rolly Road at about 4pm. The wind picked up in the afternoon, which helped to keep the snow cool. Temperature back at the car was +3C.

Total distance: 42.00 Km
